Shoe Lasts?

Sizing Option 1: Use Our Custom Shoe Sizer Guide

Fact: No two pair of feet are the same.

Fact: Your left foot and right foot are not the same size.

Fact: No two shoe brands are made the same...from the same shoe lasts.

Fact: We all want our shoes to fit perfectly. I know I do.

Well, the perfect fit is a tricky thing and almost impossible to guarantee. Just look in your closet and you'll discover a variety of different sizes for all your different style shoes. Although, they should all be within a half size or so.

To help our customers with their online boot order BootPro Solutions has created a printable shoe sizer chart very similar to the ones used in stores.

Just print off and use this shoe sizer to verify your foot size. When you click the 'PRINT' function in your browser, make sure you do not let your printer resize the page to fit your paper. In your 'PRINT SETTING' box, there is usually a function called 'PAGE SCALING'. Make sure that it is set to 'NONE' before printing. This will ensure that your printout will be an accurate size. Inches are also marked along the side of the chart to insure the scaling is correct.

Note: This is only a rough guide to help you determine your shoe size. Trying on shoes is always the best way to get the best fit. Buying your shoes from thebootpro.com is always the best way to get the best price (unabashed plug).

Sizing Option 2: Measure Your Feet

Your feet change during your lifetime. To make sure that you get the best possible fit and comfort, we suggest you follow the simple directions below each time you purchase new shoes.

  1. Place a piece of blank paper on a hard floor.
  2. Stand on the paper wearing a sock of medium thickness.
  3. Holding a pencil vertically, place a mark at the end of your heel.
  4. Place another mark at the tip of your longest toe
  5. To find your size, measure the heel-to-toe mark and use the inch-to-size table. For example, if you are a man and your foot measures 10 1/4" long, you will wear a U.S. size 9 shoe.
  6. If your measurements are between two sizes, or you find one foot's measurement larger than the other, always move up the larger size.

3 7/16" = A width 4 5/16" = EE width or W width
3 5/8" = B width or N width 4 1/2" = EEE width or XW width
3 13/16" = C width 4 11/16" = 4E width or H width
4" = D width or M width

Sizing Option 3: Get your foot measured at a shoe store.

Go to a shoe store, pretend to be interested in the expensive retail-priced shoes and take up the salesman's offer to measure your feet. Next, look at the time, realize you are late for (fill in the blank) and exit the store. When you get back home log onto www.thebootpro.com and order your boots and/or shoes.

USA Made vs Imported

First, check the labels inside the boots and shoes you already wear.

Made in the USA: Boots and shoes made in America have a tendecy to be more "generous" in size than the imported boots and shoes we have gotten use to over the last couple decades. If you wear a size 11 NikeĀ® athletic shoe than you probably should try a size 10.5 USA Made boot or shoe.

Imported: 98% of boots and shoes sold in America are now imported. You probably have several pairs, all around the same size. For our imported boots and shoes match what is in your closet.

What is a "shoe last?"

A shoe last is the solid form (wooden or manmade) around which a shoe is molded during construction. There is a unique shoe last for every style and every size made for that style. Which means that for our style #814-4550 there are 47 shoe lasts required.

A shoe last represents the design, shape, height, toe shape and volume of a shoe. And, most importantly, the anatomical information of the human foot.

All footwear manufacturers use different shoe lasts. Therefore, no two pair of shoes, in the same style and size, will fit and feel exactly the same.

If the shoe fits, wear it.
